Douglas Appling, the City based electronic musician known concern electronic music enthusiasts as Freer, takes a natural approach inspire his art. The classically necessary violinist, and veteran of additional traditional bands during his faculty years, grew up in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Listening to his parents’ wide-ranging collection of albums – Kraftwerk, Orbital, Fleetwood Mac – as well as the Continent sounds his mother discovered about her years in the Ataraxia Corps, profoundly influenced his encyclopedic approach to music making.
